Men of Promise and Purpose
Men of Purpose and Promise – the Men’s Ministry of M/P Region! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Greg Carr and I am the pastor of Prairie Family Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. As you can see, we’ve made a name change to a longtime program and are adding an official Men’s Ministry department to Mountain/Plains Region. This enhances what we can offer you, our churches, for enrichment and service opportunities.

Popular culture and society-at-large has spent the past 40+ years denigrating, belittling, trivializing and marginalizing men – as fathers, husbands and leaders. It is the aim of MPP to provide men with an avenue and outlet that helps fulfill God’s plans for them; in ways that complement how our Creator plumbed, wired and geared us to build with our hands while being wild in our hearts. And in our region there exists some of the most challenging opportunities and terrain in which to do so!

I invite you to participate as often as you can, in everything we sponsor, as a way of providing opportunities for your church’s men to be men around other men.

About the Ministry

Our Mission – to assist developing the men of Mountain Plains Region Open Bible as men of conviction, men of character, men of integrity, and men of purpose; to enable men to portray the authentic biblical example of manhood, living it out every day and everywhere.

Our Plan – to make resources and ideas available to pastors to assist in the mission; plan events that help strengthen men in their spiritual life; to plan and/or support a yearly service project either in the region, nationally, or around the world.

2010 Events Calendar

Regional Men’s Camp Out!
Imagine... No phones; no FAX machines; no emails; no stress; no agenda... other than enjoying God’s great outdoors while fishing, resting, hiking, resting, rafting, resting, food, resting and great times celebrating the things of God and life around the evening fire with brothers in Christ.

This will be a “pay-as-you-go event” for all participants with NO REGISTRATION costs! Expenses to figure include fishing licenses, transportation, and food. Churches in our region having held these events suggest carpooling and partnering up on equipment, gear and food as a cost and space-saving measure.

The date for the 2010 summer campout is June 24-27, so use these dates as you get the conversation rolling in your church.

Our destination is the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. Directions to the locale of camp will be provided to each participating church. Also, a white water rafting trip is being planned for Friday (rafting is optional and would add $50 to $100. More information will be provided soon. Space will be limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis).

Service Project(s)

For service project assistance, churches need to apply for project help by November 31. As means of living “missionally”, participants cover their costs traveling to-and-from project location(s). This is the same principal as international M.O.V.E. projects.
